2023: PDP Aspirants, Faboyede, Adedipe, blast Senator Akinyelure over Comments
Ahead of the PDP primary election, a lawmaker representing Ondo Central Senatorial District at the national assembly, Ayo Akinyelure has warned delegates in the party against picking an inexperienced aspirant as the Senatorial candidate in the 2023 elections.

Senator Akinyelure stated this while addressing some delegates in the Ondo Central Senatorial District.
He urged the delegates not to ‘send any JJC to the National Assembly’.
JJC (Johnny Just Come) is a Nigerian slang for a recent arrival, especially naïve newcomers.
Akinyelure’s comments however did not go down well with the two other PDP contenders in the race.
Our correspondent reports that the former PDP chairman in Ondo state, Clement Faboyede and a legal luminary, Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN, have so far shown interest to represent Ondo Central Senatorial District at the Senate and will be a newcomer if any of them gets the PDP’s ticket this month and later wins in the general election in 2023.
Akinyelure who is a serving Senator and also seeking reelection said: “Like I do say, my other two co-aspirants are eminently qualified to vie for this position, but I want you to have one thing at the back of your mind that no matter how brilliant a student may be, a Form One Student can never be appointed as a Senior Prefect of a school.
“So therefore, I urge you to send someone that already knows the way rather than sending JJC to the National Assembly,” Akinyelure said while soliciting for their votes in the forthcoming delegate election.
His experience is all about Capitalistic Tendency –Faboyede

Reacting in an interview with Roving Reporters, Clement Faboyede said: “Allover is a funny man. In 1999 when I was the chairman of my Council in ifedore local government in those days of Alliance for Democracy,AD, where was Allover ?
“Politically, he is my far, far junior. In 1999, when there was doctrine of leadership/ followership and there was respect in the political polity, where was he ? He was organising evening classes for students in Lagos.
“What does he know in Politics ? We picked him when I was the senatorial chairman of Labour Party when he came newly. He didn’t know anywhere. We took him round. What does he know ?
“If it is a matter of National Assembly, what is he talking about ? What type of experience (was he referring to) ?
“When Dimeji Bankole entered the National Assembly for the first time, he was made a Speaker.
“MOB in Ekiti is a first timer Senator, we all saw his output in Ekiti.
“What experience has he(Akinyelure) got ? Experienced in giving fake appointment letters of commissions that have not been established ?
“His experience is all about capitalistic tendency. What does he know ? Let him go and face the masses and the electorate.”
Akinyelure’s Experience is poor – Adedipe

Also reacting, Adedipe said: “ If in his opinion or judgement that in my entire 42 years postcall experience and as a member of the inner bar for 17 years, I should be referred to as a JJC, then his understanding is poor.
“We are talking about qualification and capacity for a quality representations.
“That is the more reason Akinyelure should be rejected, because he is not even thinking of improving on his poor quality of representation, instead he is hoping to be a prefect in the National Assembly.
“I want to give the people of Ondo Central good lawmaking and quality representation if elected.”

Both Engr Clement Faboyede and Barrister Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN) got it wrong. As we speak today, Akinyelure is rated the Best Senator in the entire Southwest and even beyond.
