The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Sunday led his cabinet members to honour Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, Oba Ajibola Oluyede and his Olori, Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede at the monarch’s first coronation anniversary held in Ayede Ogbese.
Other Eminent Nigerians also converged on the Royal Ranch of Alayede of Ayede in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State, Nigeria to honour Oba Ajibola Oluyede and Olori Olufunmilayo, as the monarch marked his first coronation anniversary on the throne.
In his speech, Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State said his administration would always be available for the progress of Ayede Ogbese.
Akeredolu said: “I am highly impressed by the progressive activities and tremendous achievements of Oba Oluyede and his illustrious Olori, Olufunmilayo in Ayede Ogbese community for just one year on the throne, stressing that enthronement of Oluyede has changed the narrative of Ayede Ogbese and drastically improved socio-economic development of the community”
The Governor specially appreciated the Oba Oluyede and his Olori for the peaceful coexistence that exists among the people.
“I note particularly how kabiyesi and his Olori have continued to deploy their wealth of experience and network for the service of not only Ayede Ogbese but also the state and humanity in general”.
“The fact that the first coronation anniversary is being commemorated with a musical concert on the theme “A Meeting with the KING of kings”, and which was the second of the ‘OBA Awon Oba’ annual commemorative events, is a living testament that the Kabiyesi is threading on the path of KING DAVID in the Bible”.
You would recall that the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu personally presented the Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to Oba Oluyede (a deed described by the Governor as ‘an honour to a long-term friend’) in a magnificent, memorable ceremony on 18th December, 2021.
Also, the Governor was fully on ground to honour his friend at the one-year coronation anniversary held yesterday.
At the ceremony, Ayede Ogbese sons and daughters were joyously celebrated their revered, 21st Century transformational monarch and his beautiful Olori alongside specially invited dignitaries, with a 100-member mass choir and instrumentalists from the award-winning De Emeralds Choir, the Ondo State National Cultural Troupe et al.
In his remark, Oba Oluyede thanked God for availing him the grace to celebrate one-year coronation anniversary in good health and specially appreciated his illustrious queen for standing by him in all his endeavours.
He promised to chase poverty out of Ayede Ogbese land as God gives him more power and strength to impact positively in the lives of the community dwellers.
He appreciated the Governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu for the special honour bestowed on him to attend the programme despite his tight schedule, and also thanked all the invited guests who made their appearances at the event and prayed for journey mercy to their respective destinations.
