Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has proceeded on a two–week leave after the burial ceremony of his mother, late evangelist Grace Akeredolu.

Though there was no official statement released to the effect, a top  government official told Roving Reporters that the governor needed to rest and had asked his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to be in charge till the ends of his Leave which is expected to end this month.

Corroborating the source in another event, the commissioner for sports and youths development, Mr Bamidele Ologun on Wednesday told members of the NYSC governing board who had come to pay the governor a courtesy visit that, “Governor Akeredolu would have loved to be here but presently he is on leave, two weeks leave.

“He just had his mother’s burial ceremony last weekend and the deputy governor that is standing in is having a programme in Abuja.”
