As part of efforts to create viable business opportunities and spur entrepreneurship in the state, the Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has held bilateral talk with the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria.

Media Officer, Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations and made available to Roving Reporters on Thursday says the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese disclosed this in Abuja where he represented Governor Akeredolu at the 63rd birthday ceremony of the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
Akeredolu said that the Ministry is keen on developing the state, adding that, “We are working assiduously to seek ways to expand the states’ diaspora relations but foremost ensuring that trust is established to enable a conducive and formidable business environment”
Giving more details, he said the discussion was premised on mutually benefitting interests to the people of Ondo state, “Certain mechanisms have been structured that could enable the state to become self-reliant but we cannot do it alone thus the need to establish a good relationship with key stakeholders” he said.
“The Sunshine State is not only blessed with a large population and land mass but numerous mineral resources that can provide a maximum economic advantage” he remarked”.
The governor added that he, urged the Ambassador to explore the possibilities of harnessing the opportunities Ondo state has to offer which would be mutually beneficial.
According to him, Ambassador, Matsunaga said he was a believer in building good relationships and the interest to strengthen diplomatic activities and pursue economic growth in Nigeria is a topmost priority for his office.
He stated further that the Ambassador promised a visit to the state and expressed optimism that the relationship between Japan and the Ondo state government through the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations would yield positive results for emergence of various innovations.
