
Hoodlums attack Motor Parks , machete Six NURTW Members in Ondo
Hoodlums suspected to be supporters of the new State Motor Parks Management Committee Chairman, Jacob Adebo(a.k.a Idajo), on Monday attacked major motor Parks in Akure, the ondo state capital and injured six members of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state.
The Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu through his Deputy and Acting Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Monday inuagurated the State Motor Parks Management Committee.
The Jacob Adebo Idajo led 21-man committee has Evangelist Festus Obasoto as Vice Chairman, with Bayode Gbenga as Secretary.
It was gathered that shortly after the ceremony the hoodlums went to various Motor Parks and attacked members of the NURTW, a situation that disrupted vehicular activities while passengers ran for their lives.
They were inflicted with various degrees of injury by the thugs who were said to have come in buses with cutlasses, knifes and other dangerous weapons.
The six victims are currently receiving treatment at an hospital in Akure as they sustained injuries as a result of machete cuts.
When contacted, spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami said the case had not been reported.
